There’s nothing quite like a nice, hot shower to start your day

But when you go to turn on the taps and nothing happens, it can be a real pain. Whether you’re dealing with a broken faucet or a clogged drain, there are a few things you can do to fix the problem yourself.

Shower Mixer Taps

A shower mixer tap works just like a traditional shower head. The difference is that instead of a single hole, you have two. One hole goes straight down into the wall, while the other one comes out of the side of the shower base. As long as both of the holes line up correctly, you’ll be able to get a good spray of water every time you turn the knob. If you want to install a shower mixer tap, you should use a special tool called a “mixer” to get the job done. This tool has two small round, rubber-like parts that fit together in the middle. You slide these pieces into the holes where the shower nozzle would normally go. When you put the two pieces together, they press against the sides of each hole and force the holes to line up. Once the holes line up, you tighten the screws that hold the mixer in place.

It’s not hard to figure out which screw goes where. Just take a look at the screw heads on your old shower head and follow them onto your new mixer. Most people find shower hoses easier to use than mixer taps. They don’t require any tools to install, and you can adjust the temperature by twisting the end of the hose. However, the hose does create another potential problem. Because water flows through the hose slowly, it causes the water pressure to drop as it moves from the mixer to the shower head. If the pressure drops too low, you might not be able to get enough pressure to spray the water out properly. To avoid this problem, you can buy a shower diverter valve. These valves have a built-in regulator that allows you to control the amount of water flowing through the hose.

Basin Taps

A basin tap usually operates pretty similar to a shower mixer. There are only two differences. First, the hole in the basin tap is larger so more water can come out at once. Second, the basin tap usually has four holes rather than two. This gives you four different options for controlling the direction of the water. A typical basin tap uses three of the holes to direct water upward toward the ceiling, while the fourth hole directs water downward toward the floor. Some basin taps even feature a spout. This helps prevent waste water from getting into the tub and damaging the finish. It’s easy to install these taps because they use the same installation process as other standard taps. However, you should keep in mind that basin taps aren’t recommended for showers. Showers rely on high pressure to push water back out after it hits the floor. Basin taps, on the other hand, allow water to flow freely, which makes it harder to control the spray.
